Sri Lanka Customs Launches Pilot Program on Paperless Submission of Customs Declarations
Sri Lanka Customs will commence the pilot program of the Paperless Submission of Customs Declarations
(CusDecs) via the ASYCUDA World system on 25th August 2025.
This pioneering initiative enables Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) and their Declarants to submit CusDecs and all supporting documents digitally, using valid digital signatures, without the need for physical submission of CusDecs at the Declaration Directorate.
For the pilot program, three (03) AEOs and one (01) Declarant have been selected to participate.
The new system is designed to:
· Eliminate manual document handling and reduce
in-person visits.
· Ensure secure and legally recognized submissions
through digital signatures.
· Expedite processing and clearance of cargo.
This initiative marks a key milestone in Sri Lanka Customs’ Digital Transformation agenda, aimed at modernizing trade facilitation and strengthening compliance through the adoption of advanced technology. Following the successful implementation of the pilot program, this facility will be progressively extended to cover a wider group of AEOs.
